The Flight Attendant will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service to all passengers aboard aircrafts while performing all necessary duties as requested by the pilot in command. The individual anticipates passengers’ needs and proactively addresses them with thoughtful planning and service. The incumbent plans all menus and catering orders, according to the preferences of the passengers; informs passengers about the menu and takes orders for food and beverages; prepares and/or heats the food and ensures the quality and presentation before serving to passengers; purchases food, beverages and other aircraft amenities and ensures the maintenance, cleanliness and readiness of the aircraft in compliance with all Federal Aviation Association (FAA) safety regulations. This position reports to the Lead Flight Attendant or designee and is an exempt position.

 Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  •  Greets passengers and provides general information in regards to the aircraft and answers their questions. Anticipates the needs of the passengers and responds to all their requests.
  • Informs passengers about the menu and beverages and takes orders for food and beverages. Prepares and/or heats the food and ensures the quality and presentation before serving to passengers.
  • Provides emergency assistance for passengers when necessary.
  • Plans all menus and catering orders, according to the preferences of the passengers.
  • Reviews and maintains the inventory of consumables, magazines/newspapers, toiletries and other aircraft amenities. Places orders and/or purchases additional food, beverage, floral arrangements or other items as required.
  • Ensures the maintenance, cleanliness and readiness of the aircraft. Cleans the aircraft interior post-flight. Arranges dry cleaning of all aircraft linens, blankets, pillows etc. and replaces all linens, blankets post flight.
  • Conducts pre-flight aircraft check lists, ensuring that all safety, galley and cabin equipment is ready for flight, in compliance with all Federal Aviation Association (FAA) safety regulations.
  • Maintains database and inventory of all in-flight entertainment (CD’s/DVD’s). Assists passengers with computer and/or technological equipment.
  • Must adhere to all policies and procedures.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience:

  •  High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum 3 years of experience working as a Flight Attendant required.
  • Must have a valid Passport and be authorized to work and travel globally.
  • Certification and/or prior training in safety and emergency including CPR, AED and first aid are preferred.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and proactive attitude is required. Possession of a Florida Driver’s License is required.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Apple iOS Devices and Windows based PC’s.
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally with overnight trips and stays is required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays is required.
  • Knowledge of all applicable Federal Aviation Association Regulations.
  • Knowledge of the rules and procedures of sanitation and safety as they apply to production, storage and service in an aircraft.
  • Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures including CPR, AED and first aid.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to demonstrate confidentiality/discretion.
  • Ability to demonstrate constant professionalism, attention to detail, and good manners.
  • Demonstrate excellent and effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrate skills in customer service.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, co-workers, elected and appointed officials.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, etc.

  Work Environment:

Flight attendants work primarily in the cabin of a passenger aircraft. Dealing directly with the public and standing for long periods can be stressful and tiring. Occasionally, flight attendants must deal with turbulence, which can make providing service more difficult and causes anxiety in some passengers. Although rare, dealing with emergency situations and unruly customers can also be difficult and cause stress.
