As a Ground Service Technician for Pentastar Aviation, your responsibilities include maintaining ground vehicles and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform progressive and scheduled maintenance on all refueling trucks, APU’s aircraft tugs, automobiles and other ground vehicles and equipment owned, leased or operated by Pentastar Aviation, including oil changes, filter changes, lubrication, safety checks, aviation fuel filter changes, tire replacement and rotation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair any and all major and minor maintenance discrepancies on equipment.
  • Check equipment discrepancy boards daily to determine maintenance problems.
  • Maintain records on equipment including discrepancy, logging date, action taken to resolve discrepancy, time and material used, and sign-off when released for use.
  • Research and prepare requisitions for parts when needed, and order as required. Maintain an adequate supply of parts. 
  • Coordinate and assist outside contractors in resolving discrepancies beyond Pentastar Aviation’s capabilities.
  • Coordinate delivery and pick up of equipment to repair shops, as required.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Assist line service when called upon, for example, wing walking in and out of hangars. This could last from one hour to two hours. Assisting in these conditions or working outside could be extreme at times, with heat or cold.  
  •  Heavy and light lifting of all types of equipment and components. Assisting with large aircraft operations. Lifting minimum for ground power equipment and baggage assistance, 5lbs and up to 90lbs.
  •  Assisting with snow removal, this includes shoveling snow. (11 acres)

We look for Line Technician candidates with the following qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Mechanical background with 2 years of practical experience required.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver equipment up to 90 lbs.
  • Stooping, bending, and standing for long periods and excessive walking required.
  • Previous experience or knowledge in the aviation industry is preferred, but not required.
