Waterford, Mich. – Pentastar Aviation Rotor Wing Maintenance Manager Bryan Clay was honored with the 2013 Transport Mechanic’s Award of Excellence by the Association of Air Medical Services. This award recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to the safe operation of medical transport vehicles or the improvement of safe maintenance procedures of medical transport vehicles. The award presentation was a highlight of the 2013 Air Medical Transport Conference, held October 21-23, 2013 in Virginia Beach, Va.
Bryan has served in his current role at Pentastar Aviation as Rotor Wing Maintenance Manager for the University of Michigan Health System’s Survival Flight program since 2009. He also played an integral role in designing the interior configuration for the EC-155 helicopters used by Survival Flight.
“Bryan has been an invaluable asset to Pentastar Aviation for nearly three decades,” said Greg Schmidt, President & CEO, Pentastar Aviation. “His dedication, knowledge base and flexibility have played a vital role in developing Pentastar’s strong reputation in the industry. His talents and extensive experience have also been instrumental in Pentastar’s operational support of the Survival Flight program. We are proud of Bryan’s accomplishments and congratulate him on winning the 2013 Transport Mechanic’s Award of Excellence.”
“Bryan's entire team of mechanics is worthy of an award, but it is under Bryan’s leadership and his constant promotion of their education, their involvement in MTLI and their involvement at the state level safety and quality committees that exemplifies his commitment to Survival Flight,” said Denise Landis, Survival Flight’s Manager of Critical Care Transport. “He leads with firm resolution, is a master at problem solving and meets challenges head on with intelligent and informed decision making.”
