"Get Fit with Pentastar" Campaign at NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Luncheon

SavannahGa.February 11, 2011 – Pentastar Aviation announced the final results of their “Get Fit with Pentastar” campaign in partnership with Sky Hope Network at the NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Grand Prize Luncheon.  Visible throughout the conference in their maroon track suits, Team Pentastar encouraged attendees to get “fit” for a good cause.  The walking contest sponsored by Pentastar generated $500 in donations, which was matched by Pentastar for a grand total of $1,000 to be donated to Sky Hope Network.

The walking contest, which attendees entered by purchasing a pedometer for a $5 donation, encouraged attendees to compete during the first two days of the convention.  The goal of the promotion was to raise funds for Sky Hope and raise awareness of volunteer opportunities among the scheduling and dispatching community.

More than 50 attendees participated in the walk contest, with many more attendees showing off their hula hoop skills for entry in to a raffle for a Nintendo Wii and Wii Fit.  Vanessa Nielsen from Bellingham Aviation was the winner of the $100 prize on day one with 8,732 steps walked.  On day two, Bismarck Aero Center’s Dora Meier won with 30,852 steps.  Ania Gierren of Fidelity National Financial was the winner of the Wii and Wii Fit.

“Attendees were so eager to donate.  Even those who could not participate in the contest were happy to donate to Sky Hope,” Kellie Rittenhouse, Director of Customer Relations, Pentastar Aviation said.  “It’s clear that our community is always ready to step up to help those in need.”

Pentastar’s in-house executive catering company, Fivestar Gourmet, joined Pentastar at the conference and raffled a ThermaStar™ food safety bag. The ThermaStar™ system was created by Pentastar Aviation to address important food safety issues such as temperature controlled storage on aircraft without refrigeration and hand washing in waterless environments.  Kazuo “Ken” Nakano from FBO Sendai was the winner of the ThermaStar™ bag.
