Pentastar Aviation Receives Stage 2 IS-BAH Safety Registration

Pentastar Aviation has received Stage 2 International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH) safety registration for its Fixed Based Operation (FBO) located at Oakland County International Airport (KPTK).

Implemented on July 1, 2014, IS-BAH is designed to promote use of industry best practices blended through a progressive Safety Management System (SMS) for FBO and Business Aircraft Handling Agencies. Stage 1 confirms that the SMS infrastructure is established and that safety management activities are appropriately targeted, and all supporting standards have been established. Stage 2 ensures that safety risks are being effectively managed. To date, only 5% of all FBOSs nationwide are Stage 2 registered.

“Receiving Stage 2 IS-BAH registration reinforces safety as our top priority,” said Greg Schmidt, Pentastar President & CEO. “Our FBO team is led by accomplished and knowledgeable aviation veterans who consistently emphasize and encourage our safety-first mentality to our entire team. We are proud of achieving this important milestone and will continue to lead the way in adhering to the highest standards of safety and service in the aviation industry.”

Occupying nearly 22 acres at PTK, Pentastar has ten acres of reinforced ramp and approximately 130,000 sq ft of hangar space, which is home to aircraft ranging from a Citation CJ3 to a Boeing Business Jet. The company has leased an additional six acres of property on the airport on which it expects to build a new hangar complex to accommodate its continued growth.
